Pennies From Peter Vol. 1 - It's A Luck Thing

At the request of one of my dear friends I have decided to start a weekly blog. I’ve thought about doing this for a while but for some reason I just never got around to doing it. I think it’s a good way for me to express myself and for other people to get some more insight into who I am and how I think. I’m gonna call it “Peter’s Pennies” …why? Well I have this weird neurotic thing where if I see a penny on the street I HAVE TO PUT IT IN MY SHOE.

It’s a luck thing.

But it has all these conditions like…it has to be on the street outside. I won’t pick one up if it’s inside. Also, I won’t pick it up if it’s a penny that has fallen out of my own personal change collection. You can’t pick up your own luck. Also if it’s fallen out of my shoe then I won’t pick it up. Once it leaves me it’s for someone else. A gift from the universe…pennies from heaven? Pennies from Peter… OMG!! THAT’S WHAT I SHOULD CALL IT!! fuck “Peter’s Pennies”…my blog is called “Pennies from Peter."

So I just went on this little trip with some friends of mine. I was lucky enough to get a gig performing at this fancy little club in West Hollywood called HERE lounge. Me and my friends had always talked about going on a trip but because we are all fucking lunatics it was hard to actually plan. My show in LA was the perfect reason for us all to get our shit together and go...

We started in Vegas, which was my first time, and believe me Vegas gave it to me hard. Like bareback sex in an alley with a 12 inch dick. It fucked me till I screamed and had me begging for more. It really is the city of sin, and since I’m already an excessive person it was a match made in casino drenched hell. I think I slept like…4 minutes total. It was really fun, but I don’t see how anyone could possibly survive more than 3 nights there. Mind you I guess if you’re not a glamour obsessed glitter fiend like me you might actually find time to go see some shows… or something. Lots happened in Vegas, too many stories for one blog entry, but if you ever bump into me on the street or on the dance floor ask me to tell you a story….it will be worth it…

So after barley surviving the neon lights, we left (more like crawled) out of the New York New York hotel and headed to my hometown... HOLLYWOOOOOOOOOOD! It was a nice depart from Vegas. It’s a lot calmer in LA. The first night we just bummed around Weho (West Hollywood) and then it was Saturday... the night of my big show. God I was nervous. I woke up with a stomach ache. You have to understand that anytime I have a performance or an event…anything that I have to show up to I get really nervous. I don’t know why. So you can imagine my anxiety waking up the day I have to perform in fucking Hollywood.

The show was really fun. It was one of those full circle moments for me. At one point, before I performed, I was sitting at our private little VIP section just looking around in amazement. I had just been interviewed by James St. James, who is one of my first major inspirations. For those of you who don’t know, he was one of the original Club Kids from N.Y and if you have seen the movie Party Monster... Seth Green plays him opposite Macaulay Culkin as Michael Alig (who is currently in jail for killing their drug dealer but is getting out soon). He was telling me that he ditched a bunch of events to come see me perform. ME. Ugh.

I was floored.

He was running around the club singing “buy me a drink, buy me a drink!” and shoving his camera in everyone’s face asking if they were “here to see peter breeze”…apparently a lot of people said yes. I don’t know if that’s because they were or if it was because they didn’t want to piss off crazy club kid with camera. Anyway the actual performance went incredibly well. Special thanks to my two beautiful and talented dancers Jordan and Jared. The promoter (who does the white party, and works with MAJOR POP ACTS like Britney, gaga, k$sha) was really impressed by me and told me he had actually heard of me before. He wasn’t the first person to recognize me and know who I was. Bizarre. I expect it here in Vancouver because im such a fame whore but when you go somewhere like LA and get to do what you love, have people recognize you and meet one of your biggest inspirations….i dunno, its really special.

Whoever tells you partying won’t get you anywhere is fucking lying. It got me oppurtunities, an album that people love, a show in Hollywood and the attention from people I admire the most. Every day the degrees of separation between me and my dream get smaller and smaller.

If you have a dream then follow it. Create it. With every ounce of who you are, follow your instincts. Cuz if you do then you will be in Hollywood before you know it, and I’ll be in the front row cheering you on.

Your friendly neighborhood superstar,
peterbreeze
